Pop Culture in a Museum

From September 19, there is a “loud” exhibition at the Music Museum in the Lohnhof, which lies next to Leonhard’s church. It is all about pop culture’s development since the 50s. Entitled “Pop@basel”, it is in cooperation with the Basel rock music association (RFV). It is based on the book called “Pop Basel-Music and Subculture”, which was published in 2009 by the local Christoph Merian publishing company. The exhibition runs until June, 2014, and is accompanied by concerts in various clubs.

Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival

This folk festival by the Münster on september, 21 is a great opportunity to get to know the Chinese culture a bit better. It connects Baslers with the local Chinese community. For the Chinese, this celebration is the second most important event next to the Chinese New Year. Part of the festivities includes a dragon dance at 8 pm. The “Mondfest”, as it is referred to in German, begins at 3 pm.
